How Illuminate Design handles what you tell us when you enquire about hire.
Who holds your details
Illuminate Design does. We decide what happens to them and we are responsible for them. If you want to ask us anything about your details, write to info@illuminatedesign.co.uk.
This showroom runs on Rental HQ, hire management software. Rental HQ stores your details for us, on servers in the United Kingdom, and does nothing else with them. They are never sold, and never passed to anyone for advertising.
What we collect, and why
When you create an account on this showroom: your name, your email address, and your phone number and company name if you give them. We need these to know who you are and to reply to you.
When you send an enquiry: the equipment you asked for, the dates you need it, and the event name, venue and notes you type. We need these to work out whether we can do the job, what it costs, and to answer you.
We use them to answer your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out the hire. In data protection terms that is taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business you approached.
How long we keep them
We keep the details of customers we are no longer working with for 6 years, and then clear them. Where a hire went ahead, we keep the paperwork for that hire for longer, because tax and accounting rules require it.
What this website stores on your device
Only what the showroom needs to work: the basket you are filling, the dates you are hiring for, and, if you sign in, the token that keeps you signed in. Nothing tracks you, here or anywhere else. There are no advertising cookies and no analytics, so there is nothing for you to accept or refuse.
Clearing your browser’s storage for this site removes all of it, and signs you out.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete what we hold, where we are not required to keep it
- stop using it for a particular purpose
Write to info@illuminatedesign.co.uk and we will answer within one month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
